Over the past few days, Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) emergency personnel responded to incidents involving a stabbing, a chopping, a road accident and a vehicle fire.

On Sunday at 6:03 pm, a Babonneau Fire Station crew learned of a chopping at Roseau and, on arrival, found an adult male with his head wrapped in a shirt. He appeared to be bleeding profusely.

The responders treated him for a deep laceration to the back of the head and transported him in stable condition to a medical facility for advanced medical care.

On Monday, at about 1:10 am,  an adult male walked into the Gros Islet Fire Station complaining of pain to the right side of his body.

He also had a laceration above his right eye.

The man disclosed that a known assailant had assaulted him, resulting in a puncture wound to the right side of his body.

He was treated and then transported to a medical facility for advanced medical care.

On Friday, SLFS personnel responded to two other incidents.

One involved a vehicle and a male pedestrian on the Vieux Fort-Laborie Highway, and the other – a vehicle fire at Beausejour, Gros Islet.

The Vieux Fort Fire Station learned of the incident involving the pedestrian at 7:30 pm and on arrival at the scene, found the pedestrian conscious and alert with facial injury awaiting ambulance assistance.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and refused transportation.

As a result, the responders treated and then transported the pedestrian to a medical facility for advanced medical care.

The emergency crews subsequently left the scene to officers attached to the Vieux-fort Police Station.

Regarding the vehicle fire at Beausejour, emergency responders learned of the incident at 8:15 pm on Friday and extinguished the blaze.

According to the SLFS, the owner indicated that his vehicle caught fire after it collided with another.

No one sustained injuries.
