Pierre commends public after ‘successful’ VAT-Free Day

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has commended the public for their support and exemplary behaviour on VAT-free shopping day. The event, held on December 22, saw a reduction in the prices of qualifying goods, resulting in residents filling the aisles of shops nationwide. The first-ever local VAT-free day was made possible through an amendment to the VAT Act, with participation remaining voluntary for businesses.
