The Saint Lucia Basketball Federation’s 2025 Preseason Invitational Tournament continued on Friday night at the Beausejour Gymnasium, with Soufrière and 767 Allstarz each earning their second wins, beating Bonne Terre Blazers and Morne Fortune Gladiators, respectively, and setting up a titanic clash on Saturday night.
The defending champions of this four-team competition, 767 All Stars from the Commonwealth of Dominica won 87-71 over the Gladiators. Meshach Du Boulay top-scored for the visitors with 22 points. Shamar Felicite netted 16, and Andel Olivance added 15.
Felicite added 16 rebounds for his double-double, along with three steals and six assists. Austine Nichols, with eight points, also contributed 12 boards. Du Boulay chipped in with five points, two steals, and two assists.
Soufrière also went two for two, winning over Bonne Terre 54-50. Andre Louison went for 21 points in the losing cause. The defending national champions, the men from the land of the Pitons will be keen to go into the 2025 KFC National League on the back of a strong preseason run, and their sights will be set on their encounter with the Dominicans.
Saturday night will be epic, as Bonne Terre and Morne Fortune will each be looking to earn their first win and thus avoid the wooden spoon. Soufrière and 767 Allstarz will be aiming to remain unbeaten and lift the trophy in the second edition of this competition.
