After a recent evaluation visit, four weeks into the works, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs, Jenny Daniel confirmed that the rehabilitation efforts are on track to expand the clinic’s service capabilities and transition to 24-hour operations.

The comprehensive upgrade project is designed to expand the clinic’s service capabilities, improve patient care, and create a more efficient and comfortable environment for both staff and the public.
One of the key improvements includes extending operational hours to provide round-the-clock medical services.
Daniel commended the progress made by the project team and contractors.
“We are highly satisfied with the level of work being implemented on-site,” she said. “The initial phases have been successfully completed, and we are confident that the project will continue at the expected pace. We anticipate a timely completion and will provide further updates to the public as we approach the final stages of this critical initiative,” she said.
The modernisation of the Gros Islet Polyclinic is part of a broader national effort to upgrade healthcare facilities and ensure high-quality medical services across the island.
