A man who sustained a gunshot injury during Tuesday’s armed robbery of a goods vehicle at Belair, Castries, has died, police have confirmed.

Investigators identified the deceased as Stefan Eudovic of La Croix Maingot.

Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) emergency personnel responded at about 4:15 pm after learning of the incident, treated him for a gunshot injury to the thigh, and transported him to the OKEU Hospital for further medical attention.

It was unclear whether any items or cash were stolen during the robbery.

Eudovic’s death has pushed Saint Lucia’s homicide toll for the year so far to 74.
