For the first time, a Dennery Segment show will be officially included in the Lucian Carnival lineup.

The highly anticipated event, D’Vibez, was confirmed by Chair of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee, Tamara Gibson, during the official launch of Lucian Carnival on Thursday night.

She acknowledged the public’s demand for a dedicated Dennery Segment event: “Last year, weather conditions unfortunately forced the cancellation of D’Vibez, a national event dedicated to the celebration of Dennery Segment music. This year, we are happy to announce that it’s back on the calendar, making 2025 its inaugural year.”

Set for Wednesday, July 9, at the National Cultural Centre, D’Vibez will showcase a thrilling lineup of popular Dennery Segment artists.

Known for its infectious rhythms and energetic performances, Dennery Segment—a subgenre of soca that originated in Saint Lucia in the early 2010s—has gained international recognition. The genre blends Kuduro and Zouk influences with local drumming and catchy lyrics, predominantly in Kwéyòl (Saint Lucian Creole).

With D’Vibez now an official part of Lucian Carnival, fans and artists alike can look forward to a high-energy celebration of Saint Lucia’s unique musical heritage.
