The Vieux Fort Wellness Centre will reopen next Monday, January 20, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs has announced.

In a statement issued on Friday evening, the ministry said the reopening of the facility marks the full resumption of routine health services for the local community, ensuring continued access to essential healthcare.

In addition to regular services, the Vieux Fort Wellness Centre will now offer two specialised clinics to address the diverse health needs of the population.

The Men’s Health Clinic, which will be held on the second Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., aims to promote men’s health, focusing on prostate health, chronic disease management, and preventive care.

Meanwhile, the Colposcopy Clinic will be held on the second Wednesday of each month, available through referrals from cervical cancer screenings. This service is dedicated to providing advanced diagnostic care for women, including the evaluation and management
of cervical health concerns.

The Vieux Fort Wellness Centre will operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The ministry has encouraged residents of Vieux Fort and surrounding areas to take full advantage of the comprehensive healthcare services available at the wellness centre.
