Two men have been charged in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Stephan Eudovique, who was shot during a robbery in New Development, Belair, on December 10 last year, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) disclosed on Wednesday.
Following weeks of investigation—and with the assistance of the public—police arrested 24-year-old Thankson Alfred, also known as “Pason”, and 27-year-old Karan Emmason Emmanuel, also known as “Baige”, both of New Development, Belair, during an operation last Wednesday.
They were remanded in custody after appearing before the First District Court for a bail hearing.
Eudovique, also known as “Tall Boy”, sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh, which proved fatal. A post-mortem conducted on December 12 confirmed the cause of death.
The subsequent investigation led to a coordinated operation involving the Major Crimes Unit, the Special Services Unit, and the Special Operations Team, which resulted in the arrest of Alfred and Emmanuel.
The RSLPF commended investigators for their diligence in solving the case and thanked members of the public who assisted in the process.
“While you may not be named individually, your efforts are acknowledged and sincerely appreciated,” the RSLPF statement said. “The fight against crime is a shared responsibility—we are all stakeholders. Therefore, you, the people we serve, are our partners. You are urged to continue supporting the efforts of the RSLPF as we endeavour to make Saint Lucia a safe place for all.
“In conclusion, you’re left with this simple advice: If you spot it, report it.”
