Police have charged a sixteen-year-old male in connection with the death of 76-year-old Dunstan Butcher, alias’ Jahrock.

Due to his age, the teenager’s name has not been officially released.

However, the youngster is a former Boys Training Centre (BTC) ward who was at the institution for possessing a firearm.

Dunstan Butcher succumbed after a physical assault on Sunday at Darnley Alexander Street, Soufriere.

An autopsy on Tuesday found that the death was due to hemorrhagic shock secondary to blunt-force trauma caused by a stone.

The deceased’s daughter, Loukie Albert, told St. Lucia Times she heard her father sustained a ‘brutal’ blow to the neck, resulting in internal bleeding.
