A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Ken Joseph Ismael following a series of joint police operations across land and sea.

Officers attached to the Soufrière Police Station apprehended the suspect, a resident of La Pointe, Choiseul, on Tuesday, following a maritime and land operation.

Deceased: Ken Joseph Ismael

The investigation that led to his capture began last Thursday after Ismael was allegedly bludgeoned with a brick at Tet Rouge, Industry, Choiseul.

According to a statement from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), the suspect is “receiving medical attention under police supervision.” However, it did not provide any further details.

The police said Choiseul residents had been instrumental in the suspect’s apprehension.

“The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force wishes to thank the residents of the community of Choiseul for their tremendous support and outreach during the conduct of the investigation. The ultimate arrest of the suspect would have proven futile without the cooperation of the public,” it said.

The RSLPF promised that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
