The contractor working on the reconstruction of Saint Jude Hospital has committed to completing the project “sooner rather than later”.

This year marks 15 years since the hospital was destroyed in a 2009 fire, which led to healthcare services being provided at the George Odlum Stadium.

Construction will proceed through the Christmas and New Year holidays, with contractor Rayneau Gajadhar personally working alongside his team during this period.

“I think the people in the stadium need to have a good Christmas next year,” he said.

In September, the government signed an agreement to finalise the hospital’s completion.

Gajadhar stressed the urgency of the work, stating, “We have a job to get done, and a job to get done sooner rather than later.”

“Everything I start, I finish,” he declared.
