SLASPA Concludes Successful Negotiations With Three Unions – St. Lucia Times

The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of negotiations with its staff-represented unions for the triennium April 1st 2018 – March 31st 2021.

These negotiations underscore the shared commitment to serving the interests of the SLASPA staff and recognizing the pivotal role that they play in the organization’s operations.

A total of four (4) collective agreements were signed under the guidance of Mr. Joseph Joseph, Saint Lucia’s Labour Commissioner, who highlighted the need for concluding negotiations in a timely manner to ensure overall workplace satisfaction, as well as fostering strong relations between Management and the Unions.

The signed agreements, including a Memorandum of Understanding and Collective Bargaining Agreements, mark a significant milestone in formalizing the relationship between SLASPA and its representative unions: Port Police Welfare Association (PPWA), Civil Service Association (CSA) and the National Workers Union (NWU).

SLASPA’s General Manager Mr. Daren Cenac, commended the SLASPA negotiating team headed by Mrs. Grace Parkinson – Chief Operating Officer, for their hard work and dedication during the last triennium.

The other members of the team were Ms. Lisa Hutchinson – Manager Talent Management, Mr. Andrew Quashie – Labour Relations Specialist and Mr. Karim Sifflet – Commercial Finance Analyst.

SLASPA looks forward to the positive impact that these agreements will have on its workforce and the organization as a whole.

The formalized documents provide a foundation for a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership between SLASPA and its staff-represented Unions.
