The National Schools’ Science and Technology Fair has been praised for groundbreaking student projects that offered tangible real-world sustainability solutions.
Students from across Saint Lucia gathered last week to present an impressive array of projects centred on ‘Transforming Imagination to Innovation for a Sustainable Future’.
The projects spanned environmental sustainability, food science and modern technology.
“This inspiring event has been a true showcase of creativity, curiosity, and innovation,” said Dr Pauline Antoine-Prospere, parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Education.
“Through the outstanding projects on display, we have seen how education fuels innovation, how sustainability guides responsible decision-making, and how science and technology provide solutions to the challenges we face every day.”
Anya James, a curriculum officer, emphasised the practical impact of the exhibits, calling them “a celebration of scientific exploration”.
“We have seen mathematics come to life in many practical ways, food transformed into healthier and more sustainable alternatives, and scientific curiosity drive new discoveries,” James said.
She encouraged the students to remain curious and persistent, noting that “science and innovation are journeys, not just destinations”.
