Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has hailed the ‘enduring bond’ with the people of his Castries East constituency who first elected him in 1997.
“Twenty-six years ago, the good people of Castries East entrusted me with the immense responsibility of advocating on their behalf in the highest decision-making chambers in our country,” Pierre wrote Wednesday on Facebook.
“They reposed their trust in me, and over the decades, we have nurtured and developed an enduring bond. An undisputed bond fortified by unflinching loyalty and cast in an unshakeable faith that I jealously guard today,” he stated.
Pierre said the Castries East constituency and its people will always hold a special place in his heart.

” Together, we persevered,” the MP observed.
“I am honoured to have earned their respect and gained their trust. That trust is the glue that has firmly held together my relationship with the people of Castries East over six consecutive election cycles,” Pierre said.
“My tenure as your servant leader remains devoted to safeguarding your well-being, developing our communities, and prioritizing your interests,” he explained.
“To the good and proud people of Castries East, I say to you thank you. Let us continue working together to bring out the full potential of our people in our communities in this constituency that we proudly call home,” Pierre stated.
Pierre became Prime Minister after his Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) won a landslide in the July 26, 2021, general elections.
