A Saint Lucian who was already charged with attempted murder and gun offences in St Vincent is now facing additional indictable charges.

Laurent Isidore is now also accused of having seven rounds of live .40 ammunition and one Smith and Wesson MP40 pistol without a licence for either. When the 26-year-old first appeared in court on April 3, he was charged with the attempted murder of Michael Richards, unlawfully discharging a firearm at Richards, and using the same firearm with intent to commit murder.

Isidore was remanded to prison again when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate, Colin John a week later. His co-accused – a 17-year-old Vincentian student – was granted bail.

The charges against the two stem from an April 2 shooting near a secondary school which left Richards paralysed from the neck down.
