On Sunday, November 12, 2023 about 6:00pm officers attached to the Marine Unit received a distress call from French Authorities in Martinique, about a vessel located approximately 2.5 nautical miles off the coast of Gros –Islet.
The Marine Unit responded and assisted the vessel, which was occupied by two male individuals.
On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the Police Marine Unit received information from French Authorities in Guadeloupe concerning a stolen vessel, fitting the description of the distressed vessel that they assisted previously.
Consequently, reports of Handling Stolen Goods and Stolen Vessel was made to the Criminal Investigations Department.

The Marine Unit conducted a patrol and located the vessel in the Marigot Port.
It was occupied by forty (40) year-old Shervon St. Clair; and forty-two (40) Samuel Rigobert both of Millet, Anse La Raye. The men were arrested for the offence of Handling Stolen Goods.
The vessel was detained and they were subsequently charged for the above offence.
Investigations into this incident revealed that Samuel Rigobert is currently on bail, for Possession of Ammunition.
