Government Senator Lisa Jawahir has expressed that people’s attitudes, lifestyles, and how they show love and care for each other will lead to a safer community.
“There is no justification for taking an innocent life! Police or the government resources on its own cannot stop crime. It helps, but the change we seek begins with us, ” Jawahir declared.
Jawahir’s Facebook remarks on Sunday followed her attendance at a candlelight walk in memory of Stephan Eudovique, also known as ‘Tall Boy.’
The 27-year-old La Croix Maingot resident sustained fatal gunshot injuries earlier this month during a brazen daylight robbery in New Belair, Castries.
Jawahir wrote that it broke her heart to speak with the deceased’s mother, who shared what a loving individual her son was.
The government senator asserted that someone’s selfish act caused Stephan’s death.
“We cannot lose another one like Stephan. Put down the guns!” Jawahir stated.
Stephan got shot in the thigh during a robbery of a goods vehicle in which he was a passenger. Reports indicated that he bled profusely after the incident and was later pronounced dead.
He was preparing to celebrate his 28th birthday on Christmas Eve Day.
