LHCSS, Choiseul Into Schools Cricket Semis

The quarterfinals of the 2025 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools’ Under-19 50-Over Boys’ Cricket Tournament got underway on Monday with games at two venues. The Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School beat Ciceron Secondary School by three wickets, and Choiseul Secondary School thrashed Micoud Secondary School by nine wickets.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Group C winners Ciceron won the toss and batted first in a game reduced to 40 overs a side. They made 93 all out in 18.1 overs, Shealawn Daniel leading with 27, Naheim David adding 14, and Dervell Gustave 12. A strong Hess bowling unit was led by Kaleb Charles with 4-19, Bjorn Fanis 3-31, and Aaron St Clair 2-8. Aiden Scholar took one.

LHCSS needed just 12.4 overs to overhaul the target, losing seven wickets in the process. Their tally of 94-7 was led by Aiden Scholar with 25 not out, and skipper Bjorn Fanis with 25. Leoneil Davis took all three wickets for Ciceron, ending 3-23. Naheim David, Shealawn Daniel, Uryiah Charlemagne, and Dervell Gustave each took a wicket.

At the Piaye Playing Field, Micoud were all out 74 in 17.4 overs, well short of the scheduled 44. Shervon Mathurin top-scored with 26, Liam Joseph contributed 15, and Kershorn Chelcher 10. Kerlan Daniel captured 3-7 and Jeanille Williams 3-34. Samuel Jean and Jermian Thomas had one apiece. Choiseul used just 9.5 overs in getting to 76-1, Jermian Thomas 45 not out and Samuel Jean 16 not out.
