A mother’s pain is reverberating across communities in Saint Lucia as Theresa John makes a heartfelt plea for help in finding the body of her son, Jahfari Joseph, who was murdered in New York.

Despite a suspect being charged for the crime, the remains of the 40-year-old Joseph, of Saint Lucian descent, have yet to be located.

He was last seen on December 29, 2024. Days later, on January 7, 2025, 61-year-old Timothy Timmons was charged but has not disclosed the location of the body.

Theresa John is appealing for help.In a video posted on Facebook, John has pleaded for assistance, asking anyone with information to come forward with information about the location of her son’s body.

Visibly grief-stricken, John, her voice trembling, pleaded: “It’s been 13 days since my son was murdered, and we still can’t find his body. I’m asking anyone who has information, please come forward.

“Whoever knows and doesn’t want to talk, you have a mother too and I’m sure you have a sister, you have a brother. Please, I’m begging you – come forward.”

The tragedy has rippled far beyond Plattsburgh, New York where Joseph lived, touching hearts in Saint Lucia, where his roots lie. Several residents have been supporting John and calling on others to help her find closure.

John’s plea is not just about justice but about dignity. She wants to give her son the burial he deserves and to have a place to mourn him properly.

“This is so hard. If you’re a parent or even just a human being… please, I need answers…. I need to know where my son’s body is,” she pleaded.
