For Ellen Butcher, giving back to her community was always a dream—one she has finally turned into reality. The owner of A Touch of Gould Hair Care recently sponsored brand-new football uniforms for the Shambala Shiloh Football Team.

The team, which has been active for 15 years, was thrilled to receive the new uniforms, she shared.

Inspired by her personal and business goals for 2025, Butcher saw this sponsorship as an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young athletes from Vieux Fort, La Ressource, and, by extension, Laborie.

“In 2023 and 2024, I completed two entrepreneurship courses that required community involvement,” Butcher explained. “I realised I had not yet made a contribution beyond serving my clients at affordable prices. I’ve always wanted to be involved in youth work, so this became a goal for me.”

Having mentored and helped young people find employment, Butcher brainstormed ideas with her husband before deciding on this initiative.

Reflecting on her contribution, she said, “I am proud to invest in the future. Just like A Touch of Gould, I pray one day they touch gold also—winning their first of many trophies.”

Looking ahead, she plans to continue supporting the team and is already envisioning her next community project.
