The roar of the crowd filled Soufriere Stadium once again as District 8 (Soufriere & Canaries) retained their crown at the Inter-District Primary Schools Athletics Championship, sealing victory with a staggering 354 points.
Their dominance was never in doubt, but behind them, a fierce battle unfolded – District 2 (North Castries) narrowly edged District 5 (Dennery & Micoud) 233-232 for second, while District 1 (Gros Islet & Babonneau) claimed fourth with 192 points.
Rounding out the standings were District 6 (179), District 7 (123), District 3 (122) and District 4 (95).
The champions’ success was built on standout performances, none brighter than Hadassah Jules, daughter of former national sprint queen Jineill Vite, among the Under-11s. She stormed to double gold in the 150m (21.34) and 300m (48.70). She also anchored District 8’s relay victories in the 4x75m (43.68) and 4x150m (1:31.51) alongside teammates Kayla Gills, Samiya St Helen, and Neveah Hippolyte.
Not to be outdone, diminutive dynamo Kilan Ferguson blitzed the Under-9 boys’ 60m (8.84) and 150m (22.08).
While District 8 ruled, others had their moments:
- Arianna Tobierre (District 6) turned 60m silver into 150m gold (24.99), then led her team to relay victory.
- Avary Maryat (District 1) electrified the Under-11 boys, snatching 80m (10.92) and 150m (20.43) wins before a jaw-dropping comeback in the 4x75m relay.
- District 5’s Naomi Flavien broke the monopoly with a gutsy 600m gold.
Two individual results were withheld pending age verification, but the U-13 Girls 4x100m provided a heartwarming moment. District 1’s winning team – Veshawna Longville, Chloe Emanus, Skai Sammy, and Joann Maxius – received medals from Sammy’s father, West Indies cricket coach Daren Sammy, on her 12th birthday.

- Joyelle George (District 8) – 300m (47.06)
- Myhia Evans (District 1) – 600m (1:53.34)
- Neah Mortley (District 3) – 1000m (3:33.30)
- District 7 – 4x300m (3:19.30)
In the boys’ division, Israel Evans (District 4) and Daveril Albert (District 2) split the sprints, with Evans taking the 80m (10.37) and Albert the 150m (19.52). Aiden Biscette (District 5) doubled in the 600m (1:42.48) and 1200m (3:58.80).
Though non-scoring, the oldest division, the 13 and Over, showcased emerging talent, such as:
- Natalia Felix (District 4) dominated the girls’ 80m (11.21).
- Jordan Jn Baptiste (District 5) blazed to the boys’ 80m (10.42).
- Ramsey Stanislaus (District 8) closed strong with a 300m (50.14) victory.
