On Friday evening, the Traffic and Special Operations teams of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force conducted a series of operations, including vehicle checks and searches, across several areas.

As part of the operation, officers executed a search warrant at the residence of a male individual in Bexon. He was recently released from the Bordelais Correctional Facility for a firearm-related offense.

During the search, officers recovered a pistol and ammunition.

A female at the residence attempted to evade officers during the operation. While apprehending her, a bean bag round was discharged, and she was subsequently taken to the Owen King EU Hospital (OKEU) for medical attention.

The male occupant and the female are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
