Ciceron Secondary Seize Control in Schools Cricket

The 2025 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools’ Under-19 50-Over Boys’ Cricket Tournament continued on Thursday, with games at three venues. Ciceron Secondary School, Corinth Secondary School, and Choiseul Secondary School all earned wins.

In Group C action, Ciceron Secondary earned a third straight win, beating St Mary’s College (SMC) by 46 runs at the Balata Playing Field. Ciceron were just 69 all out in 18.5 overs. Dervel Gustave made 14, as Aiden Mitchell took 3-8, Kaden Phillip 2-4, and Dante Eugene 2-15 for SMC.

In reply, the Samarians were bowled out for 23 in 7.5 overs, Naheim David (5-7) grabbing his second fivefer in three games, and Leoneil Davis 4-16. 

The other unbeaten team in Group C, Patricia D James Secondary School (PDJSS) fell to their first defeat, losing by 70 runs against Corinth.

The fixture at the Gros Islet Playing Field was reduced to 45 overs a side. Corinth made 134 all out in 24.4 overs. Armani Lesmond had 29, Rashidi Smith and Jasha Louis 15 each. Kerdel Nelson took 3-22, Jovon Frevrier 3-54, and Harry Monzie 2-23. PDJSS were dismissed for 64 in 12 overs, Zidane Wilson taking 4-25, Darren Felix 3-31, and Armani Lesmond 2-2. 

At the Piaye Playing Field, Choiseul completed a six-wicket victory over Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School (VFCSS). With the game down to 40 overs per side, VFCSS were all out for 53 in 24.3 overs, Jermian Thomas 3-5, national and Windward Islands players Jeanille Williams and Samuel Jean with two wickets each.

In response, Choiseul comfortably got to their target, finishing on 54-4 in 10.1 overs. Jermian Thomas made 18 and Xavi Agdomar 11. Micah Naitram took 3-31. It was the second win for Choiseul in Group A.
