Lance Brown, a 39-year-old man from La Clery, Castries, has been charged with last month’s murder of local social media content creator Jolie William.

He was remanded to prison, according to a police statement issued on Friday morning.

William, 20, of New Village, Castries, was killed in an attack at a guest house in Reduit, Gros Islet, on February 21. Another woman was seriously injured in the same incident.

Brown was initially arrested and charged with the attempted murder of the surviving victim. However, on March 11, he was subsequently charged with William’s murder.

Following his latest charge, Brown was taken before the First District Court, where he applied for bail. However, the court denied his request, and he was remanded into custody.

On Tuesday, police confirmed at a press conference that a man had been charged for William’s murder but did not disclose his identity at the time.
