Four people have been charged in connection with the discovery of a homemade shotgun in the Desruisseaux community last Friday.
Police said in a statement on Monday that Kayus Serieux, 22, and Ignetta Lionel, 46, both of Desruisseaux; Alkan James, 24, of Mon Repos; and Anthony Joseph, 30, of Bruceville, Vieux Fort, are due to appear in court on a charge of firearm possession.
The charges stem from a joint operation conducted by officers from the Micoud Police Station, the Southern Patrol Team, and the Special Services Unit, in which a search warrant was executed in Desruisseaux, leading to the seizure of the homemade gun.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has confirmed that further updates on the proceedings will be provided as they become available.
This operation highlights ongoing law enforcement efforts to address firearm-related crimes in Saint Lucia, particularly in the Southern Division.
