The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Port Authority (SLASPA) has appointed Karim Sifflet as Senior Manager for Marketing, Business Development, and Customer Care.

SLASPA said this addition to the senior management team is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its organisational structure and align its services with the authority’s long-term strategic goals.

In his new role, Sifflet will be responsible for shaping SLASPA’s marketing strategies, cultivating new business opportunities, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to both local and international stakeholders.

“As SLASPA continues to evolve in response to changing market dynamics and increasing demands for more integrated services, this role serves a critical part of the organisation’s strategic reorganisation,” it said in a statement. “Mr Sifflet will lead key initiatives to drive business development, enhance marketing strategies, and improve customer service across both air and sea ports, with a focus on positioning SLASPA as a leader in regional and international transportation.”

Sifflet holds a Bachelor’s in Finance and a Master’s in Business Administration from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, as well as a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. According to SLASPA, his strong academic background in finance, business administration, and economics is complemented by his extensive professional experience in strategic business development and customer relationship management.

Sifflet previously served as a Commercial Finance Analyst at SLASPA from 2019, where he played a key role in supporting commercial initiatives and strategic decision-making. Before joining SLASPA, Sifflet gained experience across various commercial sectors, including Ft. Sill Apache Casino (Lawton, Oklahoma), JQ Charles Group of Companies, Unicomer (Saint Lucia), and Heineken Saint Lucia, where he provided financial and strategic analysis to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

SLASPA said that Sifflet’s leadership in his new role will be instrumental in strengthening the Authority’s partnerships and enhancing the reputation of Saint Lucia’s air and sea ports as competitive, world-class facilities.

Sifflet’s appointment took effect on December 16, 2024.
