Saint Lucia has once again earned global recognition as the ‘World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination, a title awarded at the prestigious World Travel Awards held in Portugal on November 24, 2024.

It was the island’s 16th win overall and an impressive 7th consecutive victory since 2018.

“Saint Lucia continues to be a beloved choice for couples seeking the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and romance. With its iconic Pitons, stunning beaches, lush rainforests, couples-only resorts, and intimate accommodation options, the island offers an extraordinary setting for couples to create lasting memories. Winning the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination award sixteen times is a true testament to the dedication and warmth of the people of Saint Lucia,” remarked Louis Lewis, CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) in a press release

Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Minister of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture & Information, also expressed the importance of the accolade for Saint Lucia’s economy.

“The inflow of couples seeking to celebrate love in Saint Lucia drives substantial growth across hospitality, transport, and local businesses, creating countless opportunities for our people. As we continue to nurture this vital niche, we remain committed to ensuring that Saint Lucia remains a top choice for romantic escapisms, further solidifying Her position as a global leader in tourism,” he said

The SLTA has invited couples worldwide to experience the island and celebrate their love in one of the most beautiful destinations on earth.
